What do we women do when we want to change something in life? Of course, we change the hairstyle, and more often - the hair color. After all, changing appearance is easier than changing an apartment, a husband or a job. It helps to relieve stress, get positive emotions. And if the result is successful, then it will make the girlfriends turn gray with envy!

Hairstyle is simple, you can't cope here by yourself. You need to go to the master and hope for his professionalism. But with the hair color interesting, you can experiment at home. Buy a special paint, dilute, apply ... and spoil the hair with chemical preparations that are part of it. To avoid such consequences, it is better to use natural paint, which is granted to us by nature itself - henna and basma.

The value of the eastern plant

Powder made from blunt leaf tropical plant Cassia is a natural product with unique properties. After 20 minutes of exposure to colorless henna on the hair, they become thick and voluminous. It also solves many other problems:

  • accelerates their growth and eliminates dandruff,
  • strengthens the roots and slows down the process of strand fallout,
  • naturally moisturizes excessively dry curls,
  • heals split ends and restores damaged hair structure, after which the lost shine returns to it,
  • due to its antimicrobial and antifungal effects, it treats various inflammations and skin pustules.

Hair masks from henna begin to act from the first minute of application on the head. Each of its many components meticulously does its “work”. As a result, you will become the owner of a smart head of hair, worthy of universal admiration. The main thing is that homemade cosmetic procedures are done correctly, in compliance with the proposed formulation.

Features and differences

Henna and basma for hair - dyes of natural origin, which are obtained from the leaves of shrubs growing in African and Eastern countries. The dried and ground leaves of Lawsonia are not barbed and turn into henna, which looks like a tan powder. A raw material collected from indigofera - in grayish-green Basma.

Henna dyes hair in reddish-copper shades. From time immemorial it has been a popular dye for women of the East, with which black, hard hair is given a reddish tinge, softness and a special aroma. The smell of henna is pleasant and persistent, it will not disappear even after repeated washing of the head.

Henna powder and basmas for hair

With henna in Asian countries, Mendi patterns are applied to the body. This special, ritual painting was used in religious ceremonies. Our contemporaries put mehndi to decorate hands, feet and other parts of the body.

Basma gives the hair shades from light chocolate to black. During dyeing it is used only with henna, otherwise the hair will have an undesirable greenish tint. Previously, Basma stained fabrics, wool in blue and green, widely used in cosmetology and medicine.

Features of applying henna and basma on the hair

Hair application

Henna and Basma is a universal, natural product that positively affects the condition of the hair, improves their structure, and does not cause allergies. Paint curls can be at any age. Henna and Basma are suitable for adolescents who start experimenting with their appearance, as well as for women who are aged and who need high-quality gray hair.

It is possible to dye hair of any shade, the main thing is to correctly choose the proportion and duration of the procedure. It should be noted that the brighter the outgoing hair color, the faster the result will be and the brighter the resulting shade. For dark and black curls, the time needed for dyeing is much longer, and the color will not be bright, but rather tinted.

Gray hair should first be dyed with henna, and then with the help of Basma, to achieve the desired color. Henna and Basma accumulate on the hair. The more often the staining is performed, the more saturated the color will be.

Advantages and disadvantages

Any, even the most ideal natural remedy has its advantages and disadvantages. Henna and Basma staining has the following advantages:

  • The first thing that should be noted is how the hair “revives” after dyeing. Nutrients that are part of henna and basma have a beneficial effect on the structure, giving luxurious shine and silkiness to the strands.
  • No need to keep track of time, you do not overdo the paint on the hair. Even if you walk for two hours, six hours, the curls from this will only get better.
  • Dry scalp? Dandruff? Split ends? Henna and Basma to help you! After the first procedure, you will forget that you had such hair problems.
  • The composition of henna and Basma is completely natural, which makes it possible for women who are prone to allergic reactions to use them. But nevertheless it is recommended to carry out an allergy test before coloring.
  • Bonus for those who have a gray hair. Henna and Basma perfectly cope even with such a problem. You just need longer to hold the paint on the hair.
Technology of dyeing hair with a mixture of henna and basma

The disadvantages include:

  • The coloring process takes a lot of time. If you are limited in it or you simply do not have enough patience to walk for hours with a turban on your head, then choose other painting methods.
  • Henna and Basma will not suit you if your hair has recently been dyed with ordinary dye, subjected to chemical perming or artificially straightened. After such processing, the result can be unexpected and completely non-positive. Better not to risk it.
  • If you do not use gloves during dyeing, the skin of your hands will delight you with all shades of brown for the next week. It does not look aesthetically pleasing, and others think that you are not friends with soap. Do not explain to everyone that this is the result of the struggle for the beauty and health of hair. Clothes should also be covered with a cape, otherwise it will be almost impossible to wash out stains.
  • The desired shade of curls depends on many factors. Independent experiments, especially for the first time, do not always please. Talk to your hairdresser before you start using henna and basma.

When not to apply

Let us dwell separately on why chemical and natural dyes cannot be alternated. Hair will not come out, that's for sure, but it will not be possible to get the desired color. The fact is that the coloring pigment contained in henna and basme does not just penetrate into the hair structure, it also envelops it outside.

For this reason, the chemicals simply do not stick to the curls or partially do it. It is unlikely that you dream of being a multi-colored spotted leopard. Brighten the hair especially not worth the risk of becoming a green mermaid or orange orange.

How to mix

Consider the second method in more detail. To prepare the coloring mixture, you need a plastic or ceramic container, hot water, a mixing brush, and, of course, henna powder and basma. Pour the required amount of powder into a prepared, clean plate. Dry mass thoroughly mixed until homogeneous. This must be done to ensure that the color is even during dyeing.

Next, add hot water, the temperature of which should not be above 85 degrees. Steep boiling water can significantly affect the intensity of the color and not for the better, it will become dull, not expressive. It should turn out the consistency of thick cream. Again we mix everything with a brush.

Be sure to ensure that no dry powder remains on the bottom. When the paint has cooled to body temperature, it can be applied to the head.

An important influence on the result of dyeing has an initial hair tone. It is expected that a burning brunette will not be able to get a honey-blond shade after using henna and Basma, and it is problematic for a girl with an ash-brown tone to get a blue-black hair color. But if you follow certain rules and proportions, the result will be desirable.

Determine the amount of required powder for one procedure. Everyone understands that it depends on the length of the hair. For a short haircut 25-50 grams is enough. These are about two sachets, as the standard package of henna and basma contains 25 grams of dry powder. If the length of the hair reaches the shoulders or slightly lower, take 3-4 packages (75-100 grams). For curls with lengths below the shoulder blades or to the waist, you will need at least 8-10 bags of henna and basma or 200-250 grams. After several dyeing procedures, you will already know how much paint you need to buy, but take it for the first time with a margin. Let the best henna and basma remain, what you do not have quite a bit.

Henna and Basma Paint Recipes

Oriental beauties like to dye their hair in basma. In dry form, the powder has a gray-green color, but when the Basma is filled with boiling water, it becomes black. But do not be fooled by this color. If you apply such a dye on the hair, you get a greenish tint, so you need to use it with henna.

Natural Coloring

In countries with hot climates and deserts lawsonia grows prickly. This is a natural manufacturer of coloring powder - henna.

The leaves of the plant are dried and ground into powder, after which it falls on store shelves. Suitable for processing are lower shoots and leaves of the shrub, because they contain the maximum amount of coloring pigment.

Suitable for the treatment of plant stems, the result is a colorless product.

The effectiveness of the second natural product is also beyond doubt. Basma powder has a distinctive green tint that gives the hair a deep, dark color.

For the manufacture of the product used leaves indigofera This plant is located exclusively in the hot tropics and has a lot of useful properties.

Use of natural powders: we hide gray hair in black, chocolate and chestnut color

The possibility of using henna as a coloring pigment became known in the times of the pharaohs of ancient Egypt.

Environmentally friendly and healthy product nourishes hair with minerals, prevents hair loss, smoothes the surface, making the strands silky and docile.

Colorless henna relieves dandruff and seborrhea, smoothes raised scales during bathing. In addition, leaf powder has a number of positive properties:

  • stimulation of hair follicles
  • strengthening rods
  • gluing split ends,
  • getting rid of acne, skin seborrhea,
  • deep nutrition
  • elimination of toxins from the hair,
  • giving extra shine.

Henna and Basma have several advantages over expensive cosmetic products.

  1. Lack of contraindications.
  2. Full environmental friendliness.
  3. Hypoallergenic.
  4. Complex effects, including treatment and staining.
  5. Deep penetration into the core structure.

Shades of henna with Basma are dark, this should be taken into account when first using the paint.

Interestingly, at home, the application of henna is equivalent to an expensive biolamination procedure in beauty salons. The materials used during lamination cause allergies in most cases.

Colorless henna is a cheap and reliable option to make hair shine without the risk of side effects.

Vegetable pigments dye hair, mainly in red color. Therefore, to improve the strands, it is better to choose a colorless material.

It is not recommended to use chemical dyes after henna or basma staining. This will not only spoil the therapeutic effect of the drugs, but may also give an unpredictable hue.

Basma without henna is widely popular. It contains a lot of antibacterial substances, microelements, vitamins and other components. With regular use, this tool fills hair with life, relieving the skin from itching and irritation.

Masks with the addition of Basma contribute to the speedy healing of wounds, relieve inflammation, kill germs.

Remember that there is no colorless Basma.

When painted, it gives a rich black color. As a rule, to get the necessary shade, hairdressers mix basma with henna, this will improve the healing properties of the powder and add freshness to the hairstyle.

The indigo powder has the following positive features:

  • adds shine from root to tip,
  • strengthens rods
  • improves the structure of the strands
  • nourishes the follicles
  • gives softness and silkiness,
  • increases volume.

Since Basma is a natural product, its use does not cause allergy symptoms and adverse reactions.

Are there any flaws in henna and basma?

With all the advantages, henna can destroy the result of fresh highlighting or clarification. This is due to the unique properties of the plant powder, expel coloring pigments from the hair. The same effect is obtained if you apply henna or basma before dyeing.

When performing hairstyles on hair dyed with herbal substances, care should be taken with fixing agents and shampoo.

After shampooing with such preparations, a surprising and unexpected shade of hair may appear.

Professionals do not recommend to use chemical paints frequently, this will weaken the structure of the rods.

We treat hair with henna and basma

Basma is suitable for girls with dark hair. Owners of bright hair are not recommended to apply Basma, which will avoid problems with the appearance of an unexpected shade.

It is best to use the powder no more than 1 time per month and as part of a mixture for the recovery of damaged rods.

The powder is poured on boiling water, left for 15 minutes and diluted with warm water to the consistency of thick slurry. Once the tool has cooled, you can use it to prepare therapeutic masks or self-healing hair.

Before dyeing, the head is washed and thoroughly dried, after which the mass is laid in an even layer.

It is important to pre-lubricate the skin with a cream to eliminate the darkening of the skin in the forehead, neck and ears.

After the distribution of funds, it is necessary to cover the head with a film and leave for 1 hour. If you need to achieve a brighter shade, you should endure more time.

The final stage - paint remover. To do this, do not need shampoo, it is enough to rinse the hair with a balm.

Beauty home: the proportions of different colors

Each girl can independently prepare the following recipes for healing and staining strands.

  1. Home lamination. To do this, according to the instructions, it is necessary to apply powder, apply to hair and hold for 30 minutes. Repeat the procedure should be after 30 days.
  2. Mask with the addition of basma and henna. It will be necessary to mix equal proportions of henna and basma for hair, add boiling water, after cooling down, beat 1 yolk, add 1 tbsp. spoonful of olive oil and mix thoroughly. Apply to hair and hold for 40 minutes.
  3. Firming mask. It will take a bag of colorless henna to dissolve boiling water and pour burdock oil in proportions of 2: 1. In the mixture, add 3 capsules "Aevit" and apply for 2 hours. Wash off and rinse with a balm or decoction of herbs.
  4. Coffee mixture will help to stimulate hair growth. It will be necessary to mix the proportions of henna and coffee for hair in equal amounts, add kefir and vegetable oil. In the mixture add 5-7 ground studs. On the head it is necessary to withstand 1 hour, then rinse with a decoction of herbs.
  5. In order not to lose bunches of hair, you must mix 3 tbsp. spoons of diluted powder with 1 egg and 2 tbsp. spoons of yogurt.Mask carefully rubbed into the scalp and incubated for 2 hours.

In fact, the natural ingredients are excellent companions, combined in one mixture and they will give a rich, bright tone to the hair. Interestingly, natural coffee will not only give an incredible shine and deep shade, but also significantly improve the hair structure.

In order for the components to behave properly, it is necessary to mix equal proportions: henna, Basma, coffee. This mask is not only easy to prepare, but also good for the health of the hair.

If the resulting shade is too saturated, it is necessary to apply grape oil, hold it for 1 hour and rinse with appropriate shampoo.

If you want to make the shade more light, then you should dip the comb in lemon juice. This will lighten the overall shade with an ox by 1-2 tones.

Treatments using henna and basma can be performed independently at home.

In order for the dye to adhere well along the entire length of the hair, it is necessary to rinse the head with lemon juice after one day. The color will be smoother if some glycerin is added to the prepared mixture.

What is henna and basma?

As already mentioned, the lawsonia plant is non-leafless - the “producer” of the popular henna powder. This shrub grows in Central Asia and Africa, from where it falls on the shelves of our stores in dried powder form. To get henna for coloring, take the lower twigs and leaves of the plant. The same hair treatment is more often carried out with colorless henna, which is prepared from the stalks of lawsonia.

The use of basma masks is not inferior in performance to the use of henna products. Basma is known to us as a greenish powder, which provides the hair with a beautiful dark shade. Powder is obtained by grinding the leaves of indigo shrubs grown in the hot tropics. The tool is also used to treat hair, as it has many valuable properties.

What are the benefits of henna and basma for hair?

The use of henna was known in ancient Egypt. Its effect on the hair is unique: this eco-friendly product nourishes the curls with nutrients, prevents and heals their loss, works as a balm-conditioner, smoothing the hair scales raised during washing. With the help of colorless henna, you can even get rid of seborrhea and dandruff without spending unnecessary funds on expensive shampoos. Other useful properties of colorless henna:

  • Strengthen hair
  • Accelerating the growth of curls
  • Restoration of damaged, split ends,
  • Scalp treatment for oiliness, acne,
  • Antioxidant action - elimination of toxins from the hair and scalp,
  • Deep nourishment of hair roots,
  • Strengthen hair follicles,
  • Giving an incredible shine to curls.

The advantages of using henna over synthetic cosmetics:

  1. Hypoallergenic,
  2. The almost complete absence of contraindications
  3. No harmful chemical ingredients, 100% natural,
  4. Fast and effective staining along with hair treatment (not for colorless henna),
  5. The combination of superficial and deep action, resulting in the restoration of the entire structure of the hair.

An interesting feature of henna is giving the hair a look similar to the results of salon bio-lamination. For many, a standard procedure in a beauty salon causes severe allergic reactions, and lamination with colorless henna is a quick, cheap and reliable way to give shine and volume to hair without side effects.

If the plans do not include hair coloring in ginger color of varying degrees of intensity, it is better to use colorless henna for medical procedures.

It should be remembered that the shade after normal, "colored" henna is washed off very slowly, and re-staining with conventional paints can spoil the entire therapeutic result.

Hair treatment is possible not only with henna, but also with basma. Powder from indigofera contains many useful components for the hair, vitamins, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory substances. If you use it regularly, your hair will look great, and for dandruff and seborrhea there will be no chance. Also, infusions and masks with basma relieve inflammation, heal wounds and microdamages of the scalp.

Unfortunately, there is no colorless basma, therefore with a clean application on the hair it can give a deep black color. To conduct a treatment of curls, usually Basmu is mixed with henna (including colorless), so you can not only improve the appearance of the hairstyle, but also refresh its shade. Useful properties of Basma:

  • Strengthen hair over the entire length,
  • Glitter curls,
  • Hair structure restoration
  • Nutrition of hair follicles due to the content of resins, minerals,
  • Ensuring the elasticity and softness of the hair,
  • Increase the volume of hair.

Usually, treatment of curls with Basma, like henna, does not cause unpleasant consequences and allergic reactions, since this remedy is natural, natural.

Negative properties of henna and basma

It is noted that the use of even colorless henna can greatly spoil the appearance of freshly colored or highlighted hair. The fact is that the powder from the plant is able to “expel” the coloring pigments from the curls, thereby making them less bright. It also does not make sense to dye your hair after henna treatment: the dye can simply “stay flat” on the curls, or the dyeing will have different intensity.

After using henna and basma, care should be taken with the application of styling products and even with shampooing, as the shade of hair can suddenly change. Also, according to reviews, do not abuse the procedures of staining or treatment: with frequent use of henna and basma can overdry curls.

Features of henna and basma hair treatment

It is best to carry out the procedure with Basma, if your own shade of hair is dark: in this case, the unpleasant consequences in the form of a strange shade just will not work. Basma and henna are best used 1 time per month (no more), the best - in the mixture. They are especially useful for those with curls depleted chemical perm or painting. But the procedure should be started only after at least a month has passed since the last salon session.

Henna powder or basma or mixtures thereof, brewed with boiling water, insist 15 minutes, then brought with hot water to a thick paste. After the tool is ready for use in pure form or to create healing masks.

The curls before the session are washed and dried, and then gently apply a mask, after having smeared the skin of the forehead and neck with a fat cream (to eliminate staining). After applying the head wrapped film, a towel and leave for 30-60 minutes or more. Wash off the mask without shampoo, and then apply a balm (preferably natural in composition).

Ways to use henna and basma: the most effective recipes

There are several homemade cosmetics that can be used to achieve amazing results:

  1. Colorless henna wrapping (lamination). A lot of diluted with water henna is applied to the hair for 30 minutes. A month later, another procedure is carried out, but the exposure time is increased to an hour.
  1. Mask of henna with Basma nutritious. Combine components in equal proportions, brewed with boiling water. After adding 1 egg yolk and a spoonful of olive oil to the product. Keep on hair 40 minutes.
  1. Mask to strengthen the hair roots. Colorless henna paste is mixed with burdock oil (2: 1), add 3 capsules of vitamin Aevit. Apply to hair, incubated for 2 hours.
  1. Mask for hair growth. Spoon of such components is combined: cocoa powder, colorless henna paste, kefir, vegetable oil. In a mask add 5-7 ground carnations. Keep the product on the hair under the film for 1 hour.
  1. Mask for hair loss. With 3 spoons of divorced henna combine 1 egg and 2 spoons of natural yogurt. Rubbed into the scalp, leave for 2 hours, then washed off.

Henna and Basma are excellent “two-in-one” products: with their help you can give a beautiful saturated shade to your hair and also get rid of many problems. Natural components of homemade masks are guaranteed not to cause harm to health and will be a good alternative to expensive procedures from beauty salons!

Another recipe for the use of colorless henna for the treatment of hair, as well as other low-cost, but very effective means for beauty and youth, are given in the following video.

What is the difference between basma and henna?

Henna and Basma, being dyes of plant origin, differ from each other not only in the fact that the first is obtained from the leaves of Lawsonia, and the second - by indigofera. They are not the same in terms of the range of effects on the scalp and hair, on the time of use, the color of colored hair. In addition, henna is an independent dye, but Basma can only be used in tandem with mylar powder, if the purpose of coloring is not blue-green curls.

To Basma gave black color on the hair, it needs a catalyst in the form of henna.

Features of henna:

  • Hypoallergenic. Does not cause scaling, irritation, itching and blemishes,
  • Strengthens hair follicles, accelerates hair growth, normalizes blood circulation, prevents hair loss,
  • “Solves” hair scales, making curls smooth and shiny, makes combing easier,
  • Reduces brittleness and split ends,
  • It affects the skin as an antiseptic, improving its condition in case of problems with dandruff and high oily hair.

Features of the use of Basma:

  • It has a firming effect on the hair follicles, reduces hair loss,
  • It creates a protective film on each hair, protecting it from the harmful effects of external factors: UV rays, wind, salt water,
  • Fights dandruff, normalizes the sebaceous glands,
  • Increases the density of the hair, makes the hair more luxurious and voluminous,
  • Hair coloring gives lasting effect, even on gray hair,
  • The main difference from henna is that it can hardly be used without other dyes,
  • It has no contraindications.

It is important to follow the instructions for henna and basma staining:

  • Use only natural dye without adding chemicals,
  • Care for hair after dyeing. In itself, vegetable dyes give a good leaving effect, but the hair requires additional hydration, nutrition and protection. Get their curls can only from the usual means: masks, balms, serums, vitamins,
  • Use henna no more than once every 3-4 weeks. There is a risk that it will dry the hair, make it brittle and unstable to harmful factors,
  • Apply henna or basma on clean damp hair, washed with shampoo. But after staining from the use of soap means it is better to refuse. The dye strengthens in the hair structure only for 2-3 days.

Iranian henna

In its pure form, it gives a “classic” copper-red hue, but when adding other components, the color can vary from light to dark copper. It also has a tonic effect on the hair, stimulates growth, gives shine, prevents fragility and other problems. It has a slightly sharp smell and coarse grinding.

The color spectrum is more diverse and allows you to choose a shade as close as possible to the natural hair color. The highest quality is considered brown henna. Due to the fine grinding, it is easily diluted, it fits well, is easily washed off. Indian henna acts quickly, has a pleasant smell and lasting effect.

Substance, giving more restrained and noble shades. It differs from Indian and Iranian in that in order to achieve a result, it is necessary to keep on the hair a little longer.

Not a single component substance. The composition also includes clove oil and cocoa, some chemical elements. Black henna is no more dangerous than persistent artificial colors, but it is no longer 100% natural and harmless. Replace the finished black henna can be homemade composition. For this it is necessary to take two shares of basma for one henna lobe, add ground cloves, black coffee or strong tea to them.

Colorless

Colorless or clear henna does not change the color of the curls, but has a practically identical spectrum of actions. I use it as a mask or a natural shampoo for hair, giving hair strength, shine and beauty. There are many recipes for multi-component hair masks with a colorless powder. For example, with lemon juice, honey, yolk, oils, vitamins.

The product is ready for use. Liquid Lawson has a creamy consistency, convenient for applying to curls, is sold in sachet in finished form, has no artificial components in the composition.

Basma, unlike henna, is only one color.

The issue is controversial and even not entirely correct. Both vegetable dyes have their advantages and disadvantages, but the final choice of product depends on the original and desired hair color. Natural henna and basma give hair strength, density, health, if used correctly. Violating the recommendations for use, you can harm the hair, despite the fact that the dyes themselves are environmentally friendly and safe. The negative effect of Lavson powder and indigo powder is on the curls, which were subject to chemical perm. They straighten faster, become tougher and drier.

Also in the risk group - owners of too dry and damaged hair. Such curls dyes in their pure form will make even more dry, brittle and prone to damage. However, this does not mean that owners of dry hair are doomed to use only artificial colors. To use henna on capricious hair, you need to choose the basis on which the mixture will be prepared. Oil and dairy bases are best suited: olive or burdock oil, whey, kefir, heavy cream. Basma is diluted exclusively with hot water.

The disadvantages include the duration of the staining procedure. The exposure time can last no more than 15 minutes, but applying the mixture to the curls takes more time than applying the creamy consistency of artificial colors. Wash off the vegetable mixture is also heavier. Failure to observe the proportions, like applying henna or basma on dyed hair, can lead to unpredictable results. Hair often acquire unnatural shades of blue, pink, cherry, bluish spectrum, and wash them can be very difficult.

Who can use?

Vegetable dyes - a universal product. They are hypoallergenic, harmless and gently affect the hair structure. Paint based on henna and basma can be used at any age, does not harm in the presence of diseases and during pregnancy. You can paint with henna and basma for any original hair color, you just need to correctly calculate the proportions and time. The light brown color is more susceptible, so the shade will appear brighter and faster on it, for black it will take more patience and time, for brown the colors of Indian and Turkish henna are suitable, both in pure and combined form. Black color for dark hair, which emphasizes their beauty, can be obtained without adding Basma. It is enough to use ready henna with cocoa butter and cloves.

For gray curls provides special recommendations. For a start, it is better to paint over Sedin with a light shade of henna, and then re-coat with a mixture of henna and basma, otherwise there is a risk of getting too bright, unnatural and very resistant shade. Also in the mixture for dry hair is recommended to add a spoonful of base oil, for example, olive. This will protect them from dryness and brittleness and provide extra care.

What happens if they mix?

The combination - henna plus basma greatly expands the range of colors for hair coloring.Depending on the proportions, the red pigment of henna will be more or less noticeable, and the black basma will give a light blond or saturated dark color. You can mix colors with several methods:

Separated

It involves the phased application of henna first, then Basma. The procedure begins with the preparation of hair. They need to be washed with shampoo, blot with a towel, a little dry in a natural way. Do not use a hair dryer, it can dry out strands. While the hair is dry, mix the henna in the right proportions in a bowl and mix well. Apply the mixture warm to the hair, starting from the back of the head and carefully spreading it from root to tip with a comb and a special flat brush. You can massage with gloved hands. Then you need to wrap your head in polyethylene and a towel or put on a hat, to withstand the time required to paint in the desired color. Thoroughly wash the scalp and curls with water at a comfortable temperature. You can use hair balm. When dyed hair is dry, repeat the procedure using a new mixture.

Simultaneous

Its essence is in dyeing hair with a mixture of henna and basma. To prepare the paint, both powders are diluted in different bowls according to the rules that are prescribed for each of them on the package. When the mixture is cooled to a temperature of 40 degrees, they must be thoroughly mixed and put in a bowl with warm water so that the total mass does not cool down in the process. It should also begin at the back of the head, dividing the strands along the parting and moving from the roots to the tips. After the time dictated by the desired result, the mixture can be washed off the hair, curls treated with balsam-rinse.

After the usual paint

The actual question for those who decided to use natural dyes for transformation is whether it is possible to apply henna and basma on already painted hair. To do this is not recommended. The result can be unpredictable, and overlapping the ugly color will be very difficult. Particularly problematic is the secondary painting of bleached curls. On them henna and basma can appear in violet, blue and green shades.

The reverse process is also impossible. No artificial dye can completely block the color of hair dyed with henna or basma. Red or black pigment will “shine through” the new color, which will make it patchy and hairstyle inaccurate in appearance. Attempts to discolor hair will lead to the manifestation of blue-gray, emerald and dirty color schemes.

How much to keep?

Time is one of the decisive factors in hair coloring. The end result directly depends on how much the coloring mixture has affected the curls. Using henna and basma, you should follow the special tables in which the colors and the recommended dyeing time are included. If the hair belongs to a blond blonde, it will take from 1 to 20 minutes to change the color, depending on the desired result. Natural blondes will need 5-25 minutes for a lasting effect. Dark Blond requires 8-10 or 25-35 minutes. Light brown hairs need from 10 to 45 minutes, dark - up to one and a half hours. On brown and black hair, you can keep the mixture for up to 2 hours, for gray-haired ones - up to 3. The countdown starts from the moment when the hair is completely covered with the mixture and covered with polyethylene.

If you have a desire to change hair color, but you are afraid to spoil your hair with ordinary chemical paint, do not despair, there is an alternative option - use henna or basma, which are not only harmless, but also beneficial to hair.

Henna and Basma: Best Hair Coloring Techniques

Henna is the crushed dried leaves of Lawsonia, while the basma is the crushed leaves of Indigofera. Their use at home is not difficult, and the beneficial effect on the hair is great. Hair, painted with henna, become shiny, beautiful in appearance, their growth accelerates, hair loss stops, dandruff formation decreases.

The only problem is the choice of the desired shade, it is not so easy, but you can still figure it out.

When buying both henna and basma, you definitely need to pay attention to its color, because fresh henna has yellowish and greenish shades, but the old one has a reddish tint and cannot be used. As for Basma, it is a powder of gray and green colors. Its color does not change, so you need to pay attention only to the shelf life. And the fresher it is, the faster your hair will be painted.

The second important factor is the original hair color. Lighter hair will produce a brighter shade, but on darker ones it is difficult to change the color. Therefore, if you want to give a dark reddish shade to dark hair, you must first lighten it with hydrogen peroxide. To do this, take 5% hydrogen peroxide (about 30-40 g) and add 5 drops of ammonia and 1 teaspoon of liquid soap to it. Dampen hair with this mixture, and after about 20-30 minutes, apply henna or basma.

You can dye your hair two of these dyes at a time: one after the other, or after mixing both dyes. The results will be about the same, but it is better to use henna and basma consistently, because it is easier to control the process.

Changing the ratio of henna and basma, as well as the duration of their exposure and the addition of some components, you can get a very different hair color.

Henna and Basma: Recipes

There are a large number of options for staining henna with basma, but there are basic postulates that need to be followed:

  • Powders are poured into china
  • Fill them with water at a temperature of about 75-90 degrees. Boiling water (100 degrees) can only be used for basma, henna is baked at this temperature and its coloring properties deteriorate,
  • Wear gloves
  • Apply on the edge of hair growth fat cream or vazilin,
  • Using a brush, quickly and evenly distribute the paint on pre-washed hair. It is necessary to have time before the paint has cooled, otherwise it will turn out uneven,
  • We cover the hair with a plastic beret (or a plastic bag), warm it with a towel or a handkerchief,
  • We reserve for some time, which should not exceed 5 hours,
  • The washing process also requires patience, since henna crumbs are heavily washed out of the hair,
  • After painting it is not recommended to wash your hair for 3 days.

Henna and Basma: Color variation, i.e. proportions:

  • Golden-red tone is obtained by brewing powders not with water, but with chamomile tincture of pharmaceuticals (1-2 tablespoons per cup, insist, strain, heat to 75-90 degrees),
  • Chestnut - you need to add ground coffee (1 tbsp per 25g of powder),
  • Pale chestnut - add cocoa (1 tbsp per 25g of powder),
  • Tone "mahogany" - pour powder with wine Cahors,
  • Chocolate tone - make a mixture of henna and basma (1: 2) and keep on hair for 5 hours. But such a procedure should be carried out 2-3 times, as an intense chocolate color can only be obtained by long painstaking staining. And in one or two times - it is impossible to do this.
  • Chocolate tint still give strong infusion of black tea, mixed with henna. Also, to obtain chocolate color, you can add hops (ratio - 1 tsp. Hops per 1 bag of henna) and with the help of walnut leaves (1 bag of henna is taken 1 tbsp. Of nut leaves, boiled in a small amount of water).

To neutralize too bright hair color after dyeing with henna can be done as follows: apply a little heated vegetable oil on the hair, which absorbs henna. Spread it over the entire surface and leave for 20-30 minutes, then rinse hair with shampoo. And if the result is not particularly noticeable, the procedure can be repeated.

But remember that although henna and a wonderful natural dye, as well as an excellent hair mask, you will not be able to dye yourself with any other chemical paint until henna-colored hair grows.

Instead, by changing your image with henna hair dyeing, you will acquire not only a bright and fashionable style, but also well-groomed and healthy hair.

Preparation and use of masks

White henna is used in medical formulations, but it also incorporates coloring pigments with a rather strong effect. That is why during cooking and applying them at home you need to be careful and observe safety measures.

  1. Although henna is called colorless, it contains chrysophanol, a coloring agent that appears on blond hair. For this reason, the remedy is contraindicated to blondes (otherwise they may have light curls with a greenish or yellow tint).
  2. Choose specialized stores to buy natural powder - this way you will avoid low-quality fakes, which can cause a lot of problems.
  3. Dilute henna with hot water (it should not be warm or boiling), and then mix well until all the lumps disappear. Herbal extracts like chamomile, nettle, sage, burdock or birch can act as a liquid.
  4. Before starting the procedure should be tested for allergies. To do this, use a mixture of the skin behind the ear or a small strand of hair.
  5. Masks for hair growth with henna are applied to washed and dried naturally curls. To get the best effect, they should remain slightly wet.
  6. Cosmetic composition should be rubbed into the surface of the head, and then spread over the entire length of the strands up to the tips.
  7. Heat has a positive effect on therapeutic processes, so the head should be wrapped in cellophane, and then wrapped with a towel.
  8. The duration of the mask with henna is at least 20 minutes. Brown-haired girls can hold them for a maximum of 40 minutes, and brunettes - 60. They can be done 1 time in 2 weeks. The course of treatment is usually 2 months.
  9. Such cosmetic compositions are washed off with the help of plain water without the obligatory use of a shampoo.
  10. After the procedure, you should wait 3 days, and only then, if necessary, you can dye your hair with other means. Otherwise, the paint may lie unevenly, and your appearance will become far from being pretty.

Given these recommendations, you can choose a suitable recipe and give your hair beauty and health.
